We thought it might be nice to introduce you to our team. The girls behind the beautiful products you have all come to know and love. So, why not start with the youngest member of the team. Not yet of milking age, but just as important and ..... oh so much fun. Summer, what is not to love about that name. Born on our farm this spring we just knew she was a keeper. From her beautiful colors and markings to her inquisitive and lively personality she is everything her name encapsulates. With a warm and sunny disposition, mixed with just a little intrigue and spunk this little one is sure to bring a smile to your face.
Summer loves to know what is going on. Most mornings as we milk the last of the girls on the milk stand Summer accompanies them to be given her grain for the day. She's like a little toddler wanting to eat her breakfast but to distracted by all that is going on around her. She will take a bite and quickly try to hop up on the milk stand to see what is going on. Quite often she can be found holding her head titled to the side trying to figure out how to get somewhere she has never been before.
Summer is greatly intrigued by our barn cat Buster. I'm sure she would love to make a new friend, someone to get into more mischief with. However, Buster has been around long enough to know that mamma goats are rather protective around kidding season, and she usually gives both does and kids a wide birth. Summer, not to be put off, tries most mornings to make friends.
Kidding season is one of my favorite seasons here on the farm, and this year we get to enjoy watching Summer grow into a beautiful doe.
